R.D. MacLean celebrates 75 years Published Wednesday June 18th, 2008
D2 Alan CochraneCochrane Report
RD. MacLean, a family-run business at 200 St. George Street in Moncton, celebrates a milestone today with its 75th anniversary.
The company started supplying religious goods to churches throughout the Maritimes in 1933.
Roderick MacLean operated from a shop on Westmorland Street (in the present Boomerang's location) for about 10 years before moving to 200 St. George Street. Management of the business was taken over by his son, Donald MacLean. It is now run by his granddaughter, Claudia MacLean. The 1,000 square foot retail and wholesale outlet has a wide selection of Bibles, jewelry, medals, sacred vessels and CD sets, rosaries, books, vestments, church wine, candles and general church supplies.
An open house was held to celebrate R.D. MacLean's 75th anniversary.
I do
